Cactus, 2nd try

OK, I finally got around to reshooting the cactus in the living room window.

This is the first try, after some PS

I think I can bring out more detail in the spines via PS. Other than that, comments? Suggestions?

1st one is too dark, 2nd one is a little soft, 3rd one is sharp but a little dark, except for the quills near the top, they are blown out.

maybe place a dark piece of cardboard behind the cactus to make it stand out more.

Your first try is better than the edited second try (both are good) :D Your un-edited second try is horrible :(

Yeah, but the color is the truest in the bad one.

*sigh*

I didn't like it at all but some people made suggestions and wanted to see the followup so I shared.

My ratio for pics I like to pics I don't like is way off :)
