Shots of the stone statues outside a building. I put two versions up one is a 'normal' b&w and the other i put a bit of a bloom effect on it. c&c please

G'Day mate!

Not being an expert in B&W conversion, I can't comment on that. But there is a distracting background element that makes it look like your cherub has a long, curly tongue!! :-)

Perhaps this is a case for selecting the background and applying some blur to it to throw attention to the foreground (cherub).

The shot seems to have tremendous potential.

I like the statues, but that background just doesn't make it. Way too much clutter. If you could go back and reshoot the cherub with the distant city and or some blue sky in background, I think it would be much better.

unfortunately, my options for shot locations are rather limited. the statue is actually 6 stories above the sidewalk and i was on a scaffold. as for the background, we're in the middle of construction, and i cant really have people remove the scaffolding in the background just for my shot :D . I do see your point though. maybe i can photoshop it out.
