I use nic Met hyd, 2100's. As ive been told the bigger the 's the longer it will last, not how much power it puts out.

I think they all do the same job, i've heard about some type not to use, can't rememeber the name, if its true someone on here will know it.

The charger is probally where they differ. Mine can do AAA's aswell as the AA. MIght never use it but it is handy to have, and a adptor to charge from a car lighter is always handy, expecially if your on trips like you were on.

If your a well planned person and charge all your batteries the night before the speed of charge wont make adifference, but if ur lasy like me and wake up and realise, IVE GOT TO BE AT GF's LITTLE BRO FOOTBALL GAME IN 1 HR, then you need a quick charger.

If you are interested in an inexpensive (cheap :) solution that works, Wal-mart sells this 'Digital' brand battery charger/battery/car adapter set for about $16. Staples carries it too but they charge $29.

Digital Concepts CH-3900 Rapid Charger w/ Car Charger

The batteries work great. They perform better than a set of rechargable Energizer brand that I bought at the same time, and for an extra $4 or $5 you get the charger and the adapter.

I had some reservations about the charger, although it works great, because it charges all of the batteries at once, in series (the current flows through each, remove one and the light goes out). So, I recently picked up a Ray-o-vac charger as well, because each battery is charged separately, with its own indicator LED, so I know that each one gets a full charge.

The cheapo 'Digital concepts' charger I keep in the car with the car adapter, for quick fill-ups when I'm on trips, or if I forget to charge the batteries at home.

From the research I did, the Maha charger with 2200 mh Powerex batteries seems to be the best rated. If you search for Steve's Digicams and look under accessories, he reviews battery charges and has links to buy them.

The more milli amp hours the better - must be NiMH tho not Nicad!

This may be the place to remind everyone that rechargeable battery only perform their best after several full charge/discharge cycles. So expect to be dissapointed at first.

This (http://www.cliffshade.com/dpfwiw/batteries.htm) is a very good place to learn about batteries for digital cameras

This page seems to say that powerex is the best with sanyo 1850's way down the list - or am I missing something?

I am using grand power 1700mAH. Well the battery is a bit hgeavy than normal batteries. And I can use it for a veryt long time-just that when it comes to charging-it takes 24hours

I selected the Energizer ACCU HR6-AA 2100 mAh.

Acording to a consumer products comparison, they are the best all arround. You can be almost sure of 1000 recharges before they start losing charge.
I have 4 and they last like a VERY long time.
