This is a sunset picture I took in black and white and then edited and added some blue hues to it. Please let me know what you think.

The colour effect is very nice. The only thing that irritates my eye is the tilted horizon.

i really like it.
IMHO, i feel sunsets should be in color because of all the oranges, reds, and yellows.
but thats just me
very nice shot and good tinting
cheers

Thanks for the replys. I was also annoyed by the tilted horizon. I didn't notice it when I was shooting and it happened because of the angle I was shooting down the beach. I'll have to remember this next time. Thanks again for the comments.
Is there a way in photoshop to correct the horizon angle?

Yah... Roate the image... you can either do this with the crop tool or image>rotate canvas (I believe that is the comand I dont have PS open)
But if you rotate canvas you will still have to crop a little off the sides.

I really like this picture... I think the blue works perfect; a nice deviation from the norm.
I stared at it for ages :-)

Kevin,
I'd like to see this picture if you get it straightened... why not post again if you manage it?
another comment, I think that wave about to toppple in the foreground is what makes it, don't know if it was luck or not but it works very well IMO.

Hi,
Under the Eyedropper tool is a tool called the measure tool. If you use it to mark the horizon, ( in other words click it where the water meets the skyand drag a line along that mark then release, it will leave a line ) then go to Image/rotate canvas/arbitrary. clicking on OK will level your horizon.
Hope this helps.
Eric
Ps.
you will have to crop it square an you will lose some of the photo
and Oh yeah I do really like the photo I'm a sucker for sunsetand sunrises :)

I really like this shot. Its nice to see a sunset in a different colour than red. The blue really does it for me. My wife particularly liked the shot too.
Yes it would be better if the horizon was level, but three minutes in Photoshop could fix that.
Cheers

Thanks for the comments Moly, Elm and Jason. I went into PS and straightened the horizon....So I figured I'd post it. I probably need to start from the original though. Is it true that every time you make changes to a JPG file and save it you lose picture quality???
Here it is...

I like this shot. It could almost be a moonrise on a clear night instead of a sunset. Nicely done :)
elm54, good tip. learn something every day I look on here :) :D I used to just rotate till it lines up with a guide I put in, that method is much quicker.

Nice picture. I like the blue hues you added.. it makes for a very peaceful picture. The shot itself is nice.

Yes. Everytime you save the JPG it will compress it further. Depending on what setting you're saving the JPG at (quality-wise) the JPG will degrade in quality everytime. Its not THAT noticable if you're saving at like 95 quality everytime. :) You might want to try saving as TIFF when you edit your images and make a jpg when you want to show people. TIFFs have a lossless compression (meaning they won't degrade image quality)
