Hello room i am new to this forum glad i found it my ? is i have a power shot S30 and tried using the night mode feature on it and all my pics came out blurry.Why did this happen,and does it have to be completely dark to use the feature.

Did you use a tripod?
If yes, the finger pressing the shutter button is shaky enough to blur it. Try using the delayed-action

I agree with ftlmo. You need a tripod, a 2-second delay (to avoid vibrating the camera when you press the shutter), and you need to tell people in the picture to remain perfectly still for a few seconds, even after the flash has gone off, as the shutter remains open.

Too bad you can't select what shutter curtain to lock the flash on. Being on the first curtain leaves odd trails in FRONT of people if they walk around after the flash triggers.
