Just a piece of info about filters for small compact cameras

As I found several questions about how to get a filter in that cameras in this forum I suggest to take a look at Cokin filters http://www.cokin.com/ico10-p0B-AN.html .

As a slr user for many years ( and a recent one to digital) I already had several filters that now can use with my S50.
Note two things: - this cokin system use filters that it only fits it’s dedicated holder
(you can combine up to three filters in one shoot);
- most of the effects you can do in post processing in the computer but a few are impossible (you can make a glare effect in a water surface with software, and you can make it disappear but can’t make what was behind that reflection).

A polarizer also can enhance landscapes; the colors are more saturated, blue skies, green foliage, etc. Also combining a circular polarizer(164) with a Varicolor Blue/Yellow filter (173) it’s great in some landscapes (and much faster than the software solution) see this example http://www.cokin.com/cokin-data/composants2/pages-filtres/filtre-173st.html (the middle image).

Well, I’m not a really fanatic user of filters, but sometimes can help, hope this could help someone.
