This is a picture with Mount Garfield here in Western Colorado. I have not done anything to this pic other than resize it for the web...Let me know what you think!

I'm sure the photo does no justice for what you actually saw when you took the photo.
The sky colour is very nice and crisp and the rays through the clouds are also nice.
However, the dark area in the photo destroys the photo. The photo would do much better without it but then again, scenes like these are a dime a dozen.

ouch :-) I actually took some more pictures of the same thing that have more light in them...maybe I will post one up for you to look at. I thought about getting a picture of just the coluds and rays, but wanted Mt Garfield in there also...

Thanks!

I think this dramatic shot could have been improved by more mountain! Perhaps a stitch of two shots so we get the whole of the mountain instead of just a glimpse.

Sorry to be blunt with the end of my post. I wasn't trying to be rude.

Hi,
I like the clouds and the sky color is nice especially the rayz of sunlight ;) The Luminous Landscape has a good tutorial on taking photos like this at different exposures and the blending them in Photoshop to bring out the underexposed areas like your mountain side. You might have to surf the web sight below a little.

Or with a little (or alot ) of work in PS you might be able to bring out those areas yourself. Just a thought.
Peace Eric

I like this shot a lot. I think it could be improved if the mountain was a jet black sillouette.

Great capture of the clouds with the Sun coming through them. I like this a lot.

Cheers
Jason
