Hi,

I have a simple question (I've done a search but didn't find the answer).

When I'm connecting my S45 to a computer with the USB cable (usualy running Win XP Pro) I have to use my CD to provide the rights drivers.

My friend who own a S50 doen't have to use the disk.

Is it normal, or should I go to my local store to get a "firmware update" of some sort.

And also, i'm sorry if this question has already been discussed, just give me the right topic and I'll be more than pleased.

Thx

Hi,

when you've installed the WIA-driver on your PC it should work fine. When connecting your camera to another PC with WinXP set the transfer protocol in your camera to PtP and it should also work.

I've tried both protocol on Win2K pro and WinXP Pro. Doen't work.

I have the latest firmware 1.0.2.0.

I'm going to the store I bought it from.

Thats weird. I have a s50 and I installed drivers on my computer and it works fine (I have XP Pro). I have a laptop too and I wasn't @ home, so I didn't have the Canon CD. I plugged the camera in via USB w/o drivers and it still let me access my camera. :|

I have a friend that has just bought a S45... He has the same "problem"...

I just hope that it's only a firmware matter or something like this.
