I am pretty comfortable with the model bikini shots. However I havent done any nude shots. An opportunity has arisen for me to do quiet a bit of nude "arty" type photography for a website (around 30 girls over a 4 month period). The girls will be posing at various locations around Sydney and surrounding suburbs.

Does anyone have any tips about doing this sort of photography? Do's and Dont's?

One thing that sort of bothers me is having the umm... "natural" type reaction a bloke may have when a beautiful young girl is getting undressed and playful in front of him. I guess the control here will be in the mind.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Cheers
Jason

i've done some nudes and partially clothed of a few friends (I also had one paid gig a while ago). i asked for them to be as natural appearing as possible, without the posed look, but that's just my style. they turned out well (all b&w). i found that i was not even looking at their bodies per se but at them as my subject, which put everyone at ease which makes for the best kind of photos. good luck.

However much a woman has posed nude, however proud she is of her body, she still feels very vulnerable without any clothes on, which may express itself in different ways. Always make sure she has a robe or other complete covering within easy reach. Take frequent breaks and suggest she put the robe on during the break. This will relax and freshen the next session.

Establishing a friendly (brotherly, sisterly) non-flirtatious atmosphere from the start will help both sides. Keep things light and flowing. Avoid any clashes.

What pleases you, even turns you on, say it frankly out loud in a warm and friendly way, preferrably with light humor.

Look, but don't touch without first asking permission. Always be respectful, even when they aren't.

With thirty girls and four months some problems may arise. To yourself or to them ...always say "Later"...

If all else fails, keep a photo of Queen Victoria and/or an Oz croc in your upper left shirt pocket and glance at it from time to time. That oughta shrivel yer timbers mate.

I always wondered how you guys do that.

I have a heart problem that has to be monitored and sometimes I have to do a treadmill test where you have to run on a treadmill with no shirt or bra, while the tech guy is standing their watching and monitoring. I always wondered if the tech guys have natural guy reactions considering most of their clients are older men, then here comes a 24 year old woman running on the treadmill.

p.s. maybe you could tape a pic of your mother in law on that back of your camera :-)
