I'm waiting for my new 10D to arrive. It's already shipped and should get here this week. I know my EZ540 strobe is not compatible, so I've already purchased a 550EX. That should arrive this week as well. For starters, I plan to use my Canon EF 28-105mm Zoom that's been on my EOS Elan. Someone please tell me that lens is completely compatible with the 10D. After purchasing the camera body, the strobe, and some compact flash cards, my budget for this package is about spent. I'm hoping not to have to buy glass for the camera right away.

Any EOS lens should work, I hear.

If its a Canon EOS lens it should work. Everything under my profile works fine, soft but no focus problems.

I got my 10D @ the end of May. I had 3 lenses, all Canons, a 35-105 mm f3.5-4.5, a 50 mm f1.8, and a 70-210 mm f4.0 and all EF lenses which I had bought 15 years ago whien I bought my Canon 630 body. All of these lenses work on the 10D.

If your lens is an EF lens, my guess is it should work on the 10D. When I purchased the 10D, I also purchased a 28-70 mm f2.8 canon lens. It is a great lens.

I think it is a testimony to Canon's engineering capability that these lenses still work on there new cameras! I understand that the same cannot for Nikon.

One thing that I have read is that Canon has a database in the 10D that has the parameters of their lenses built into the firmware of the 10D. I'm not sure what that means to non-canon lenses that people are using on the 10D.
