I've heard rumors of a gold colored canon lens... but I can't find anything on it.

I know Canon made a "Champagne" coloured version of the 24-85mm... is that what you are thinking of?

I've never heard of it. If they are available, i'm sure it'll show up in our fellow Dante's gear list.:D

It's called the goldfinger lens.
Canon EF 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 "Goldfinger"
Nothing special, just coloured to match the body it came with.

thanks, detectives!
not really as gold as I was hoping.. heh heh. I was picturing some cheesy bling-lens that rappers could wear around their necks on chains.

Find a Canon IX APS for sale and most likely this lens is attached.
It is a nice cheap travel lens for a crop camera. It would go well with a 300D or an XT.

I own this exact lens and find it to be a decent lens. Use it for landscape situations etc. when my 17-40L is too short. Will likely stay in my bag until I can overcome the emotional pain of paying for a 24-105L.
