well at least i think they are baby mice, hard to tell really :)

i was out trying to shoot the usual bug macros and i noticed the dog sniffing around in the grass ..........then i heard a little squeak....

i ran over to pull the dog away becasue from the noise it was obvious he'd found a little mammal....

and i was presented with this scene :)

not the greatest image but I really didn't want to get any closer or disturb the little guys n gals (especially didn't wanna leave my scent anywhere near them in case the mommy mouse abandoned them)

so i took 1 shot............ pulled the grass back over and left them alone....

then had to give up on macro shooting and forcefully drag the dog indoors or he'd have killed them for sure.......

Nice shot chemical :) They're pinkies alright. Eyes won't open for another 8 or so days most probably. You did the right thing leaving them after grabbing that shot. :)

Future pests, nice shot :)

Now now! They're part of the food cycle, only man considers them pests, and they don't do a lot of damage. They're simply trying to survive in a very tough world. :)
