Hi! I've been eyeing the G1 for some time. Can't wait to lay my grubby little fingers on it soon. ;P
Anyway, I've been reading quite a number of posts and realise people who are travelling usually bring a laptop along, to upload their pics, when they're on the road.
The laptop can be rather bulky. Was wondering if any of you have any suggestions as how to get around with minimal of equipment.
Me thinks.
In urbanised areas. Get one of 'em 1Gb IBM Microdrives. Shoot all the photos you can and upload them into those virtual memory banks on the net e.g. FreeDrive, at the nearest internet cafe. Get someone at home to download and you'll have all the time in the world to pick and choose when you get back home.
In far flung places? Well I guess it's back to the laptop or perhaps one of those portable 20Gb (or more) HDD(http://www.databest.fi/usbide.htm)? But I'm not sure if the G1 can direct firewire/USB to HDD tho'.
I intend to do lots of travelling in 2002 from Europe to Nepal. Do you think the above's feasible? How would you do it? TIA!
