Thats hilarious. Great capture and the Robin must be getting something out of this. Perhaps the wood is cooling him down? Was the wood damp?

Never in all my years have I seen a bird do this, well not on dry land. It is very comical.

After I took this shot a Blackbird chased the Robin away and took over it’s spot and started sunning itself ;)

What an unusual capture. When I first saw it I thought that it was a fledgling just out of the nest, but apparently not.
Very nice detail and great timing to get an unforgetable shot.
