Are there any pro sports shooters on the forum?

I was wondering if you could post the focal length you use the most for which sports you shoot.

for example:

"300MM for football on the sideline" or "100-200MM rinkside for hockey"

I may have an opportunity to break into sports photography shooting for ESPN at the end of the year and I want to put some stuff in my portfolio that would secure that oportunity. I will be shooting hockey, baseball, and american football primarily.

Any advice is much appreciated

Thanks!

I shoot baseball, football and soccer with a 400 f/2.8 IS on one body and 70-200 f/2.8 IS on a second body. Basketball with 85 f/1.8 or 70-200 f/2.8 IS and 300 or 400 f/2.8 iS for the defensive shots at the other end of the court, again with 2 bodies. 135 f/2.0 is also a popular basketball lens.
