Just got my new A70 and I lov the clear digital snaps. I did notice that the batteries that came with it didn't last. I believe I shop about 50 pics mostly using the view before I had to replace them. Any suggestions on batteries for this camera??

Did you completely charge your battery before using it? Were you using flash?

The batteries that came with it are Alkaline.
Alkaline batteries have a very short life with high-drain electronic devices. They tend to lower their output voltage slowly as they use their charge, and electronic devices will refuse to run when they get below a certain level.
You will probably find (if you didn't throw them away) that they still have a lot of life left in them for use in a flashlight or TV/VCR remote control.
Go out and buy a good set of NiMH rechargables and a charger. They take a couple of full charge/use cycles to get up to full charge, and when they do you'll find they last many times longer in the camera than the alkaline batteries. They can also be re-charged and re-used many, many times (I think the number of cycles was around 1000?) and they'll be far cheaper than disposables in the end.

I've been using GP 1600 NiMHbattery for my A70, it can consider a good battery for beginner like me. It can last for more than 100 shot with full Flash on every shot!
Maybe you can try to look around for GP 1600, 1800 or 2000mAh battery, it will last longer.
