Was dragged along kicking and screaming to the V8s today at Pukekohe for a bit of photography practice. Was shooting from about 2 floors up in the HPM corporate box, view was great and the large screen in fornt of us filled in the blanks when the cars were round the other side of the track.

not sure. coming through those corners its probably around150 -180kmh as they supposably hit 240 at the end of the front straight

Nice shots Simon. I also shot from the same position on Friday. Thanks to Nakita (Simon's gf), for inviting us along. The only bad part about the spot, despite a great vantage point, is you're looking into the sun, so everything is backlit. :o

Could you see us down the pit lane entry, Simon?
I could see you clearly. :lol:

Couldn't make you out, the 18- 125 was stretched just getting the cars. If I had the 70 - 200 w/ 1.4 tc it would have been better (or even a 120 - 300 )

was tough in the 'box' having to deal with all the promo girls and all the guys wanting photos with them.

could have done with a speedlite for fill flash on alot of them as all the promo girls wore hats.

Great shots Simon. As Warren stated, the track was severly backlit where you were, so you're posted shots are fab :)
