A post that i made yesterday in EOS Camera's apears to have broken the rules and although posted as a light hearted post only meant to bring a smile it may well have offended .
That was never my intention and in no way did i intend to upset anyone,
To that end i apologise to anyone that may have taken offence to it and i wont let it happen again .
i put it down to British sence of humour and poor jugement on my part
Regards
Rob
This does not need debating so no replies nessasary.

The British have a sense of humor??
Just kiddin'. I didn't see your post, but it's cool that you offer an apology for those who might have felt slighted by it...

I saw the post and thought it was great. :)
Unfortunately it's generally accepted that british humour is not appreciated by all, and if my contribution to that thread made things worse, then I apologise also!
I thought it was quite tame meself, but then I'm used to practically unmoderated BBSs - nuff said!

I saw it, i contributed and certainly won't be apologising as it was nowhere near being offensive.
I've seen plenty of posts on here i could object to, but to be honest, life's just too damn short. :)

You should be ashamed of yourself ... apologising like that
I think a link is necessary so we can all judge for ourselves

An apology certainly wan't necessary, but is much appreciated. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that this is a forum without restrictions for age or gender. It's sometimes helpful to ask ourselves whether we would make these comments in earshot of a mixed audience. Most of us wouldn't.
We just want to keep this a friendly, comfortable place for the widest possible audience.
Thanks.

It's a fair point really - this is about as close to a proper, popular, friendly forum as Canon people have to frequent AFAIK, and the content does have to be watched carefully to make sure that there isn't any opportunity for
"But your honour, the men on the POTN forum said I should flip out ninja style on the school bully, kill everyone in a five mile radius and set fire them, and myself to prove the point, that's why I covered myself and all my friends in petrol and lit that match after shooting Big Davey in the leg!"
moments.
Highly improable and more of a humerous suggestion, but you get the idea ;)
However, on a more serious note, I have seen stuff go from internet forum childish behaviour, to allegations of date rape, to betting on how long someones marriage will last [and the following threats of libel - seriously], and my god does it get ugly - not worth risking IMHO. The stuff mentioned there goes back four years and it still opens up huge cans of worms where I post, although it's generally agreed that we 'don't talk about that any more'...
At least this thread was left up long enough for us to have a giggle though, so I won't argue at all ;)

unfortunately many people online, and in the 'real' world, lack a sense of humour, and more importantly a lack of perspective.
Since moving to the States, I've discovered first hand, as many people had told me before I came here, that Americans don't get the British humour/sarcasm. And being from N Ireland, our particular brand of brutal/harsh banter, goes down like a lead balloon.

Benny Hill, Black Adder, and the greatest of all- Monty Python.... I like British humor / sarcasm... I'm not sure I've ever dealt with a Northern Ireland person :) Bet I would like that humor too...
