Very nice shots, did you have to do any tweaking?

I shot raw and converted "Normal" in BreezeBrowser with white balance "as shot". Post Processing is disabled. Then in Photoshop Elements 2.0 I did a small amount of adjustment of high, low and midpoints(levels), USM 150-200, 2.0, and cropping.
Thanks for your interest and comments.

Nice shots!
These shots also show how capable 100-400mm lens is.
You can even see the teeth of the laughing boy on the shoulder.

I just went through your entire gallery, your shots are fantastic! :) I love the way you capture the emotions of people in the crowd. I enjoyed the wigfest pictures, I bet that was interesting.

I'm smiling and I feel a chill as I write this thank you. I am very much drawn to the emotions on people's faces and I try to capture that in my pictures.
Thanks.

Very nice pictures, but did you need the 100-400mm lens? a 50mm could do it I think.

I too went through your entire gallery. You do have some nice shots, but I must say that as they appear to me, you have blown out the highlights on about 80% of the shots. Just my observation and 2 cents.

Yes, but not without people minding you taking their photos :)

In digital as in film, you have to make choices. There are limits to the range of tones a sensor or film can represent at one time. I chose to blow out the highlights to get better lighting on the faces on a cloudy day. If I had preserved the highlights, the faces would have been dark. Had these been posed pictures,at closer distance, with a shorter lens, then fill flash would have been an option. But with spontaneous shots in a public setting, that would have been out of the question.

I like the pics too, it's my kind of subject matter.
Try not to blow out the highlights and instead use maybe a contrast mask or curves to bring out the darker areas....
This was taken with Canon 75-300mm IS (not the greatest lens I know) handheld in not the greatest light, no flash...
Brought out the darks with contrast mask.

LOL
It looks like I blew out the highlights a bit on her shoulder there but you get the idea.

Nice shots, and helping me make my mind up over the 100-400 L lens as my next financially crippling purchase! I really like this kind of work and agree that you have captured something of the person in the people - does that make sense?
These shots also show what a brilliant job the 10D does with colour.

I think that shot is lovely Clos, the blown highlight is a bit distracting but, only because you pointed it out! There is some fabulous detail in the face and the hat, which frames it nicely. I'd have been a bit tempted to try and clone somthing back into the shoulder and maybe blur it a little but, you might be a bit more of a purist! Anyway, coooool 8)
