My first outing with the 70-200.Not sure which forum to post them in but horse racing is a sport. I went to the racetrack.the spring meet at Keeneland. Lexington, Kentucky. I didnt do any bettting. I went to take pictures. The sun was bright and harsh. It was so crowded I could hardly move but I did the best I could. How do you guys deal with the harsh sunlight and shadows. I didn't take the flash with me. I was afraid of spooking the horses.

They are great. I know from experience how difficult it is trying to shoot at the races (we have race horses)...you will find that these horses are generally used to the excitement at the track so the flash shouldn't bother them much at all. Having said that...if you see a horse that is playing up its probably a good idea not to use the flash. ;)

Those are great, especially considering the sun and crowds. Aren't horses fun to shoot?
