I posted these images on this forum about 12 months ago. Now I am likely to be at the same church again in the next few days - any suggestions for improvements would be most welcome:

Not sure. What you have taken look like fine "documentary" shots to me. The church steeple might have been off vertical a bit.

I think that the issue relates to the "feel" that you want to depart. If "documentary" -- it seems to me that you are on target. But...I am not moved by the "light" here -- the way that I was moved by your sweethearts.

How do you convey majesty ? I am not sure. But it may relate to special light .. maybe morning .. maybe evening.

I've grapled with situations like the church shot before. How do you keep from having blown highlights in teh stained glass window and yet keep detail in the shadows?
Does anyone have the answer?

I always find this problem with large buildings - if I try and capture the whole building it does need to have something to add (such as light). Maybe I'll try for more detail shots?

Hi Unstuck

The usual way to get shadow detail and highlights
is to take two shots.
One exposing for shadows and one for highlights.
Then combine the correctly exposed parts of each image.
