Yeah, the men are macho and the women are gorgeous. But there's a definite downside to participating in rodeo:

These are much better. I have watched rodeo on t.v. and often wondered why people do this.

Thanks.
Unlike the guy from the other night, this cowboy got up and walked away.
Sure was a wild ride, though...

Man I wish I could find a location to go shoot this sport! Neat Shots! I saw a guy last night on tv that got his spur caught, and was stuck while the bull rag dolled him around by his leg until the spur gave way. Amazingly he walked away from it too. Painful to watch to say the least.
When I do find some of this to shoot... are you stopping down a little to get rider and bull all in focus at once?

Hey - thanks.... yeah, since I responded I have been doing a little homework and found the "extreme bull riders" which have something about 30 miles from my home in Oxford, NC every thursday night... and it looks like I have a chance to shoot the PBR in Greensboro in September... just working out the details right now.
Thanks for the links.... I will have to check them out.

Steve Parr, if your looking for more Rodeo action in what I beleive is in your area? There is a police rodeo in Valley Center on the 26-27 of May. They are a little more family oriented but with many of the same events as professional rodeo.

Steve, is this from the rodeo on Highway 67? I drove by one the other night and was tempted to stop to try and get some shots.

Steve, the first shot tells so many different stories. Looks as if the bull is looking right at you, telling you, you're next.
Also looks as if the cowboy is wrestling him, or trying to.
I love watching rodeo on TV. Only say one one time, and that was at the Parker Ranch on the Big Island of Hawaii. Alas, that was my first time there back in 1984. I had a canon film camera with me and was more interested in checking out a cowgirl on the side of the ring bending down with the most awesome *&^. I still have the 4x6 of it.

Very nice shots!
My dad hated the rodeo, he was always on call and could count on having to miss dinner and most of the night because of the injuries....I loved to go and watch, but as a kid I wouldnt watch the bull ridding cuz I hated seeing guys get hurt, now I love to watch it on OLN....LOL
