I noticed a reference being made to iBULC (http://www.ibulc.com) (internet Batch Up-Load Component) previously. Now is it possible all to integrate that into EE? That will completely eliminate the use of FTP to upload new photos. What do you think Pekka, it looks like a very valid solution to me.

Cheers,

John

PS. I remember your gallery of G3 images in the early days, when you had all the images on just one single page! I love what you did with EE, very useful.

It could be ok to use it to upload to /UPLOAD folder in 1.5, but EE 1.5 does so much on single upload command in upload page: iBULC can not possibly duplicate even a small part of that.

EE is also fully multiserver capable engine, and its path/resize system is way too complex for iBULC.

With external upload systems another problem arises when you'd need to add those uploaded photos into database. This would basically mean using manual input and "import dump" feature: you'd need to make the upload application build a text file dump of uploaded files info which should then be parsed and converted to info EE can understand and feed to SQL.

But I will keep an eye on it, as iBULC support can be a valid option for multifile uploads to EE UPLOAD, for those who have acquired licence for it. The do not seem to have any documentation online - I'll have to start mailing them for info, after EE 1.5 is out.

Thanks! :)
