With my steep learning curve and slowly increasing confidence, I went to a local nature park today armed with my camera. I had a go at shooting some of the wildlife (with my camera only of course). It was a grey dreary day, my first attempt at birds and there wasn't much about, but here are a few.
CC more than welcome - need all the help I can get!!

Nice photo's.
I had a play with one of them.
Used my velvia script to get a bit more dynamic range (2/4/9)
Slight sharpen with usm.
Added a bit a of contrast with usm.

Great job Mickle... Thanks
By the way, they were taken at Ferry Meadows - small world or what!

I think that all four of your shots are quite an accomplishment. It takes a lot of patience in dealing with wild animals.
I will skip over the first two shots - good as they are, they're not in the same league with the two later shots because of background problems and depth of focus problems.
These two later shots are terrific. #3 qualifies as a fine art image. It has superb composition and interest - the exposure and color balance are spot on. Great shot.
Congratulations!
#4 is just hilarious. They just look so funny and non-chalant. Good exposure, excellent color balance and good lighting. Superb general interest and good composition.

I will have to go with the crowd and vote for the last two shots. For their visual interest, composition and exposure.

Great shots Tantalus and welcome to POTN. The last two are excellent (the Swan perfect). At the risk of sounding picky, I would remove the duck sitting on the grass in the last picture which appears to be a distraction. Thanks again and keep posting.
