I took this picture on a road trip break. Other than photo stitching, other editting I did for it was sharpen and some levels/curves adjustments.

Please let me know what you think. Full details are on the "photo properties" link.

I like the photograph. It has a moody, dark quality. It has nice balance, and the birds in the foreground make it.

I am sorry but this pic doesn't really work for me.

It is technically fine, well exposed etc.

But I can't see what it is that attracted you to take the picture particularly.

I see some concrete, some water, some swans and a slight sunset, none of which seems to be the main subject or have any 'strength' in the picture.

Obviously you saw something that you thought worth taking, but I don't see it too. Maybe that says something about me rather than the picture.

It is a good record of your trip and probably evokes memories for you, but I am not sure it conveys that to others.

Perhaps you could have tried a lower viewpoint so the swans were larger and there was less empty water in the middle? - that could add some strength and so increase its general appeal.

Anyway, sorry to be a bit negative, but it is my honest opinion. I don't think it would be fair to say I liked it when i don't.

I am just getting set up to post some of my pics here too - so perhaps you will be kind enough to be honest about mine too.

i like it.

its kinda of dark, but i think thats my monitor. Did you stitch at the far right??
The shadowed ducks seem different.

Good try.

Mark! Thank you for being so honest. I appreciated this most:

It is technically fine, well exposed etc

because to be honest, this is what I was practicing. I took a short stop on a two hour trip because I really wanted to check out this point. I took a few pics of birds and such and thought it would be a good opportunity to learn how to photograph sunsets.

And you're right, this was meant to be a recording of my experiences but I really do appreciate what you're trying to say. I've just started out with photography and I really need this kind of criticism. :D

Not to say that the others who said they liked it aren't meritted critiques too. :) It's all good, I'm not looking for just compliments. :D

I like it with less of the coastline. In my opinion it seems more balanced that way.

Overall though nice job with lining up the seams.
