Has anyone ever attended one of Brooks Colleges weekend workshops? I'm interested in one for November called the Art of Portraiture. It's $375 for two days. It will cover photography of children, families and glamour portraits. You will be given a model to work with and is all digital. Sounds like it might be a good experience.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Melisa

I've never attended a weekend workshop there, however I did visit for a weekend when I was considering pursuing a degree program there. They actually offer a degree specialization in portraiture (at that time they did). If their workshops are anything like their full time degree programs, $375 sounds like a great deal, I'm sure you'll learn a ton!

Not even sure what Brooks college is sorry Melisa. Have fun though, it wont be as hectic as your mind is thinking it might be. (it never is :))

I assume you mean Brooks Institute. there is a brooks college, but Brooks Institute is what offers teh workshops. I attended the school for quite a while, though we never did the workshops. But based on the speakers and info they will go over, I'd say you'd be a fool not to do so

I have been considering the workshop myself.

joyce is amazing, though I would seggest doing some research on her and especially her methods, as they are old fashioned. not too many digi people are intrested in polaroid emulion transfers or 4x5 work. not that she is exclusive to those, but that is defiently what she does best
