Ummm...Photoshop isn't what professional glamour shooters rely on to get those good shots you see. Sure they use it, but they start off with a very good capture by using studios plus studio lights or off camera flash, proper backdrops and sharp portrait lenses.

Perhaps if you reposted this in the glamour forum, you'll get more helpful advice?

Hi,

I have to echo what Pike said. I would probably be looking at technique more than anything. What sort of setup are you using?

From what i can see, here are a few pointers:

1. Bring your models out from walls and things as the shadow behind them is horrible.
2. Use a custom white balance, or shoot RAW and adjust later - your images are a little too red.
3. The images look a bit soft - some USM (unsharp mask) through PS will help alot.
4. Watch out for the small things too - like the shadow over her eye in the second one.
5. The images are a bit flat, use your levels and curves to adjust tone and contrast.

Here is one that i put through about 4 seconds of Photoshop, which IMO is a big improvement - so your images can definately be worked with, but try to get it right before you click the shutter.

All i did was a bit of levels to bring out the contrast, lighten it up, remove the red cast, and USM for obvious reasons.

A corner like that just doesnt work..there are way to many shadows all over the wall..better lighting setup and different backdrop/location will improve the shot. They also seem very soft...if you need a good portrait lens but cant afford a really great one..get the Canon 50mm 1.8 its offer super crisp photo for only $70..

Yeah but he can't, can he ? only 43 posts :(

For my money and i'm no expert her eye make up doesnt help the shot, and the pose doesnt look very natural. but the background is the main thing, this would have worked better against an infintiy cove with high key lighting to white out the background.
