View Full Version : Buying a POTN Pro Strap

I really would like to buy a POTN Pro Strap (the red one!) but, during checkout, I am warned that "billing and shipping address must be in the same country". But what exactly is the "billing address"? Is it the address where I will receive the receipt from POTN or the address of the bank that issued the credit card? Or what else?
Now I live in New Zealand but unfortunately my (only) credit card is still Italian. So, am I allowed to buy the strap?

P.s.: I do not have a PayPal account, I do not like PayPal and I would not like to open an account just to pay one item.

I'm guessing you hit the nail on the head. With the italian CC and NZ address the system isn't allowing you to complete the transaction.

I know when i ordered mine, having my CC registered to London, and my address here too it was easy. The only hard part was waiting around for it to be delivered, but it was worth the wait :)

can you apply for a CC in NZ?or open a bank account that gives you a debit card?

Or, come to the next GKPE with a wad of cash equivilant to the total cost of the strap and see if one of us can use our CC's to order one for you :D

Is your current address the same address that the Italian CC sends its bills too? If so then it should work. If not, see post #3 or #4 :-)

I have a local bank account, but with no CC: the costs were much higher than my Italian card so, as I've never had any problem using it till now, I decided to postpone the kiwi CC.
Anyway: let's see what happens during the GKPE3. I'll bring with me the "wad of cash" ;). And, should that be not enough, I may resign myself to open (and instantaneously close) a PayPal account...
Thank for your kind help!

Maybe you could mail the payment to someone?

Like Skip said, since (I'm assuming) your bills get sent to NZ, then your billing address is NZ. It shouldn't matter where the card was issued.

Exactly.

I think that you can use paypal without having a paypal account.

Usually that is true, but not in this case! :-/

I don't know. The fact is that my account is with an Italian Internet-only bank: I do not receive any bill at all via snail mail, only eMail.
Probably I'll try to pass the order and see what happens...

Ahh! In that case, just put the NZ address down for both shipping and billing. I'll bet it will work!

If nothing else, you should be able to call your CC company, and add your mailing address to the card so that when these online things check with the bank, the address shows up as valid.

Billing address is the address you have on the credit card account. I don't know about the Italian bank issued card. But most will even allow you to add a second address for people they may share residences in two different places.

Check with your account online and see what address you have listed. If is your current addy in NZ, you should be all set! If not see if their is an option to add a 2nd address.

I have had to do this just for paypal. I have secondary address on two cards so I can have 3 confirmed address for paypal (home, work, and relatives house in FL).

OK: I've made the order, giving the same address for both shipping and billing. The order seems to have been accepted. Now I hope to receive something! ;-)

Outstanding! Let us know if it doesn't work!

BTW, I got my strap a couple weeks ago and I LOVE it! It's a LOT better than the Canon strap; for me, anyway!

The strap was delivered this very morning! :-)
Now I have to figure out how to mount it... anyone has a tutorial or some explanatory picture? ;)

As a comment on my purchase, I have only one word: COMFORTABLE!!! :-)
I wonder why I did not buy it ages ago!

Exactly! The only thing I don't like is the fact that it makes my neck sweat more, but I can live with that for the comfort! :-)

If I have any gripe with my POTN strap, that's it! I never realized how much heat you lose through the back of your neck and with that neoprene strap there you really get hot! But the comfort of the strap makes up for extra heat.

Enjoy your new strap!
