Can anyone recomend a good, easy to understand book or publication that explains in simple terms the use of Software provided by Canon with the G2 Camera?
I checked the Adobe website and could find no help, and I find the help tab on the program difficult to navigate. I can never really find an answer to the exact question that I have. It is nice that the software is bundled with the camera but feel left in the dark. Does anyone else feel this way?
Thanks!

hi, if you're talking about photoshop LE, i HIGHLY recommend "photoshop photo retouching secrets" by scott kelby. it is really for photoshop 6 (the full version) but much of it applies to photoshop LE as well. check out samples here: http://www.photoretouchingsecrets.com/

Hi,
I've gotta say that the Photoshop LE that's bundled with the G2 is not very user friendly. I personally use Photoshop 6.01 but if you really want to get to grips with the camera and good software then can I suggest Photoshop Elements - this is very user friendly, comes complete with a very readable and extensive manual, and only 10% of the cost of the full Photoshop. Indeed I run them both on my machine.
Hope this helps,
Barry

i agree with barry that photoshop elements is good stuff. you can download a fully-functional 30-day trial from adobe.com. if you decide you want it, you can always buy some hardware that comes bundled with it, like a wacom intuos2 graphics tablet or the visioneer 6970 scanner or the higher-end epson perfection scanner.

Hello, and thanks for the Photo shop Elements info. I think I'll give it the 30 day trial. So much of the software out there looks good and make abundant claims but when you get it in front of you it is down right confusing. One would think that the companies that sell their stuff to the camera makers would make sure that good instruction manuals were enclosed. Oh well!
Thanks again

My G2 came with Photoshop 5.0. Just FYI. Purchased it just before Christmas. Received it just after Christmas. I believe it was the Dec. 26th 2001.

I would reccomend the Adobe Photo Elements software, and the publication "50 Fast digital photo techniques" by Gregory Georges. The program is excellent, but only after using the book to explain the software techniques. On the downside, it will cost you $69 bucks for the software, and another $25 for the book. If you really want to learn how to work with digital photos though, this is well worth it.
