Good series Dave- focus looks good but lighting is a bit odd. It looks as if your flash is mounted very high- is it actually on the camera hotshoe?. My flash diffuser ends up only just above and slightly left of the lens so if I'm level with the subject the whole of the front should get fairly evenly lit apart from the far right.
