Being a Brit transplanted in Southern CA, I have no idea if there is a concept to Prom photos. My daughter seems happy with them. I have many shots so I guess I got a few right....

The second one is her favourite.

I like the second much better than the first, it looks like you surprised her in the first one. The fourth is excellent except for the awkward angle of her foot, very flattering. Mostly prom photos are trial and error, a good mix of candid shots, but mostly posed with different backgrounds and positions. Did you take a garter photo and date photos? I guess I would like to see more variety of the photos that you did take.

The date.......he has a broken leg, hence the akward stance and "comfortable shoes"!!!

I like the second one in this set more because they don't really seem to be genuinely smiling in the first, looks like you produced some good photos from these though and if your daughter likes them, that's what counts

Thanks for the input, I had fun too, so I guess we both benefited from the shoot. A little scary watching my baby grow up !!!!!!!!!, she is only 16.:(

she has more proms ahead then! I just had my last one this past saturday. I will try to get my boyfriend to post some of the photos he took (he's more into photography than I am and is certainly more talented) and will let you know if he does so. It might give you some ideas for next year :-)

WAY too much photoshop on a few of those for my liking. She almost looks like a cartoon in #2. I think the last poses are more along the lines of what you shoudl be looking for.

The photohop job in the first few is not so great...the last bit are nice, its a shame though these kids grow up so fast.

I was wondering about the second, there is actually very little Photoshopping on any of them, but I think Neat Image overdid it.....and as I have no idea how to use NI yet, I guess I will have to keep trying.

A broken leg'd prom date? Bummer for her. My daughter's just 6 months old. I don't think I'm going to make it to her 16th birthday. I'm a dad and one of my good friends said when he was born and his dad was spreading the news, one of his co-workers (who had a daughter) said something to the effect of "Congrats, you SOB." To which his father responded, "SOB?" "Yea, you have to worry about one of 'em, I have to worry about all of them!" So true :(.
Gorgeous daughter, lovely pictures, a worthy first attempt. Maybe a bit of a crop on #4 to get rid of the odd footing.

I was also assuming you used photoshop to smooth the skin in #2. The skin looks like it has the airbrush effect. Still, I like #2 the best. The expression here is the best. Lovely daughter by the way. :D

I think if they were genuinely smiling a bit more they would look nicer, they both appear to be trying to smile in the fifth, but the smiles seem a bit forced, teeth may help, in the first your daughter looks like she has gorgeous teeth, tell her to show them off a bit more!
