Hi all,
I’m after a bit of advice with a Flash Card. I’ve just bought a new camera ‘PowerShot S70'. When I bought it I also purchased some 1gb SD flash cards. Its all arrived but the SD flash cards are much smaller than then normal flash cards. I have seen the below adapter but unsure if it will all be compatible;

Many thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forums.
The S70 takes CompactFlash (CF) memory, which I take it you mean by "normal" flash cards. You don't want the adapter that you posted a link to. that adapter is for putting compact flash cards into a laptop PCMIA slot. I am not aware of any SD to CF adapters. You should be able to find 1gb CF cards fairly cheap. Other than buying new memory, I am not sure what you can do.

Ok, Thanks. Yeah I bought the below card, but its the size of a postage stamp, so was hoping I could use some kind of adparter for the camera.

Like the one I posted above or;http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=90H&CategorySelectedId=11153&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11153&v=1#infoarea
Looks like its going back on ebay and I will order some new 1 GB stuff.

A quick Google on "sd to CF adapter" turns up products by PNY, EagleTec and Minolta. Maplin Electronics (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48016&doy=search) has one that's CF Type II, which won't fit the S70 but would fit the EOS DSLRs and the G-series. I think the EagleTEC is also Type II.

Hi
I have a Canon power shot A75. I was at walmart today and they had compact flash cards marked down. I got 256 mb for $15.00 and 512 for 35.00. I do not care about speed. On the back it says Lexar media and made in China. I have ben looking for reviews of the Kodak flash cards but have not been able to find out if these are any good. I take a lot of photo's while I trave and I just happy tp down load the photo's when I retnurn home
Thanks

Mary; not to make you feel bad; but this 4 gig card is 8 times the storage as your 512 mb for ~ 2 times the price (after rebate).
