Hi all, just got the G2, love the feel, the features. Just a question, as yet I have not loaded software on my puter[Pentium4, windows 2000xp}. Seems from the software guide there may be a conflict with the software. I visited the Canon website and it says to get rid of these conflicts it may be necessary to download a new driver. They state amongst all the technical stuff that cameras shipped after October with "Designed for Windows XP" in my interpretation, may be okay with supplied drivers. I don't want to screw anything up by driver conflicts, is there anyone out there that can help me?? Thanks

hi, i'm running win2000 so i can't help you with the XP stuff. regardless, i find the camera software of limited use anyway with the only exception being the RAW converter. if you just get a separate CF card reader, you really don't need to load anything onto your computer.

Hi,
Re the G2 software and Win XP you will find that there are no conflicts whatsoever with the Canon software, however you will be unable to use the TWAIN driver to connect the G2 to your 'puter - instead you have to use the WIA driver. There is an upgraded WIA driver and RAW converter on the Canon web site.
I've been running the G2 with Win XP Pro for some considerable time now with no problems whatsoever.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Barry, my fears were all for nothing. As you said, no conflicts. Now I have to learn all the photo editing software. Thanks again Barry from a transplanted guy from Manchester living in Vancouver Canada..........
