I need help please, glad that found this great forum.

I was just talking to the tech at Canon, and while using the camera the built in flash, pop while I was going over with the tech about settings etc

Then, I hit the button on the side of the camera again to make it pop, and it would not pop without any reason.

The tek had me removed both batteries for about 20 seconds, and put them back and now the flash doesn't work at all. However, the beam goes off and flashes.

What is bad about it is that I am leaving to South America in 2 weeks and was planning having my equipment up an running, never had any problem.

I need help, suggestions, whatever please

Thanks

Do you mean that the pop-up machanism releases, but the flash does not go up?
And that the flash then fires while still in the camera body?

Maybe you try to release the flash and then gently !!! pull out the stuck flash. BEWARE! I don't have a D60, I'm only guessing!!!

Don't know whether this really works on the D60, but it's a workaround I had to use with my (non-digital) ixus...

Andy

Actually, it started with the release mechanism wouldn't pop up, then I opened manually and then it would not trigger the flash.

I stopped by the store where I bought the camera, and indeed they agreed the mechanism is broken.

I am dissapointed the camera is not even a year old and it already showing some dyfunctional problems
