Hi all,
Please check my gallery, I just upload it some of the pics I have been taking on the past 3 weeks.
Also I have to say that I'm not a pro photographer, I just start 3 or 4 weeks ago since I receive my Canon 20D and some lens. I will like some day to take better photos, but your opinion will be a great help on decide to continue or not.

Thanks

I like the flower, urban city photos
Check the setting you have for your pricing , make sure you have them set for the amount you wanted to charge.

Hey, thanks for checking my gallery, I just start it, and I have the regular account on Smugmug, to be honest I don't know how to set the prices or worse I don't know anything about how this smugmug stuff works.

Thanks

I liked the pics. Urban, lots of pics that can be taken using those shapes and their reflections. One thing I would suggest, would be to challenge you to go back, and this time stand against the shape, looking at people that approach to see it. See if you can capture their gestures, their countenance.

I am also on my way to learn this photography stuff, and my mentor, who has been a pro graphic reporter for over 20 years, helped me right away to get rid of my Zoom Syndrome.

I had a nice camera (back then a 35mm Nikon f70x), with a 70-200mm lens. I used that almost exclusively, I liked the DOF reduction, which helped focus on what I wanted to photograph. It was then that I was challenged to use only 28mm and no higher than 70mm lenses, in order to train some of the most basic aspects of technique in photography. Composition, getting closer and in position, getting closer, using the right exposure and start messing with the more advanced photo modes (P,Tv,A,M), getting closer, and I made my point.
After about 100 clicks (photos), I had already seen a difference in the way I took photos.

In your site you have a few family portraits that are extremely good. Same with animals and flowers.

What I do in my own life, is I try to find themes and then photograph the heck out of them. Buses, or Public Transportation. Trains, I actually live in a hub that connects all railroads in California, so plenty of opportunities to get close to trains, see them pass, with backlight, in the sunset, etc etc. I found my skills gradually started increasing, as I learned how to take one hundred different pictures of one theme, all with different approaches, and points of view. I would only dare show 3 or 4 of those 100, but that is the nature of the learning experience.

I was reading the other day, and an Adams quote said "If a photographer can find 12 memorable photographs in one year, that will have been a great year".

Anyhow, I wanna make money taking photos too. But first I am trying to concentrate on becoming a good photographer, and then I might be able to develop enough contacts and experience as to find the best ways to make money out of photography.

All is said in my honest opinion, and being the first to admit my photos are not what they could be, but that is good, cause it means I gotta get out there and get more shutter time !!!...

Don't give it up if you love it, man.

Thanks for the coments mjgravina, I will get back to that park and try to get that kind of pictures, I only have no more than a month shootting pictures, this is one of my hobbys, probably the most expensive, but I really like it.
Also I need to put names on the pics so people can know the name of those flowers, places and animals.

I really apreciate all your coments (mean all of you guys that are pros) and I will continue doing this for a while.

Thanks!!
