Hey guys, just wondering what you think of my photogallery. I am releasing it tonight after a few days working it out.
It is based off of PHP, with CSS for the design. I heavily modded the stock CSS file, added a few of my own images and the sort.

Comments and crits welcome, on both here and on the site itself.

Not qualified to give any technical critique, but I just want to let you know I really like your pictures. I really like some of the perspectives, and crisp simplicity... like the bench and the bee that follows.

Edit: I just noticed you got a 350D for your sixteenth BDay - I'm 16 in July, but I'm getting a 350D before then :D
Edit again: Just found out it was pixelpost
Edit More: Pixelpost is amazing! I think I'll replace my crappy flash and image-map galleries with it :D

Liked the Site, Galleries, and even a few of the ideas you have experimented with!... Specially the water shots, I might have to put that on my list of essays to do in the future.
There is some amazing stuff... I am no pro, I saw your stuff mostly as Artistic material, a lot of abstract, extremely good stuff.
Other pics (chair, water in deck table, fabric, etc) look really cool due to the Depth of Field, but did not strike me as special.
The arquitechtural attempt, reminded me of my first try at it, which looked a lot like yours. Showed it proudly to my uncle (Pro Photo Journalist and my mentor) and he said "It's nice... but what is it you're taking a picture of?".... It turned out that there are ways to photograph lines and forms and still show content, have a specific motive in the picture. In this case I would venture to guess an AC unit on top of the roof of your house, but there is no other detail that I can rescue from your picture.
I shared this in one other post in this forum, but put your zoom lenses away for a couple of weeks, and do 28-55mm photography during that time (want something to look bigger on the image? Get Closer !!! Many 28-35mm pics are taken a foot if not inches away from the first foreground object in the picture). It will teach you a lot about who you are, where you want to go as a photographer, and the basic rules and techniques for getting there.
BTW, I really liked your 'fake' advertisement for Logitech. I could see that published in any of my Techie Magazines, in fact, as soon as I saw the photo, I went online to see if the actual mouse model exists and if my local store has it. So I guess your Ad worked !!!!.....
Cheers.

Man it's nice to have an in-depth crit like that :D Thanks man
I just got my camera two weeks ago, and still am using the kit lens (18-55mm). It is my only lens but I am planning on purchasing a sigma macro this week (I have enough money, I just need to get out to the store :P).
(The pic was my chimney, has the same aluminum siding as the upper-half of my house. I liked the sun shining on one half so cleanly. I need to go on trips to different places, perhaps downtown T.O. soon.)
Thanks for comment, I really do appreciate people putting that kind of effort into helping me out!

Go to the water front in TO - its pretty nice, and if you can catch a sunset (you may need to be on a different side of the lake :D) then it would be pretty cool. Get a tripod though :D

at least your parents gave you your camera. I've been saving up since last september, and only just ordered it today, after borrowing £120 from my savings account (I'll have to pay it back later)

Hehe yeah, I think I am at 5000 in my first couple weeks.

5000? It only has a 50,000 life :D (the shutter)
I'm probably not going to be taking too many, the only problem is I can't trust my eyes for MF on the 350D, so I have to "spray" shots, slowly turning the focus ring. I have 20/20 vision, its just kinda tricky to see whether somethings in focus on the viewfinder :(
I have got some in-focus shots without spraying though ;)

He He... my first baseball game, with the 10d I took about 650 photographs in 90-100 minutes. Mostly burst mode, trying to catch a 'pitch to hit', or a stolen base with a sequence of the runner sliding into the bag, etc. In the end, only about 150 go for the League, and I keep about 10-12 that I really like (fun jumps, cool effects, what not). Recommended reading (homework folks) is definitely THE DAM BOOK, (DAM stands for Digital Asset Management), this book saved my butt when I first started taking photos, as I wanted to keep a copy of every single shot, but then be able to categorize between crap and usable shots, nice looking ones, and those which I would want to use for publishing. He has a cool system for rating shots, classifying them, etc. And several programs to do that (not only Adobe Bridge, but others more affordable).
Anyhow, at least to eye for a couple of days, a chapter alone will give you a better idea. As you may or may not see it coming, give it three months, and you will have several thousand files. I decided to start early, because going back on six months worth of photos should be a royal pain in the rear. Cheers,

I'll look into it. I know I have to start deleting more - I've kept most of the 7000 or so photos I took with my A75, and now I have an 8Mpixel camera that shoots 8-10MB RAW files, I can't keep every shot.
Thanks
