Saw this guy hanging around today in my backyard. Went back and got my gear, and thank God it's still there. This is a stranger to me. Any idea what this is?

Looks similar to my #1 shot here http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1445741&postcount=1
So I'd suggest it might be a female Bibio sp. gnat unless it was a lot bigger.

Thanks, Brian, for your kind words and id. Yes, it looks the same as yours, but mine is a bit bigger, I think. They are about 1/2" long. :)
