What is the best setting to avoid jagged diagonal even horizontal and vertical lines / house siding, rooftops, telephone poles and telephone lines etc/ Usually show when I use M and Fine setting. They are less obvious when using L and Superfine. Landscape , pix of people and macros are OK. Anybody?

You answered your own question. Large format is prominantly the best to remove the jaggies. Use superfine compression to keep most of the detail you can.

The jaggies are from when a solid line jumps to the next row of pixels. When there is more pixels, the jumps are much less noticeable.

The compression rate may affect it a bit, but mostly it's the amount of pixels used in the photo.
