I have been at Silverstone both Tuesday and Wednesday for the Formula One Testing. Quite a few teams were testing including McLaren, Renault, Honda, Williams. There were a lot of spectators (most I've ever seen at a test). Had an excellent time and as usual I took a few photos ;)
Here's a few compressed "forum friendly sized" photos from Tuesday...

C&C most welcome ;) I have tried to post something a little bit different here since there will be quite a few threads on this subject :p
Cheers :)
NOTE: I will put some of my photos from Wednesday online soon ;)

Excellent Azza.#4 and #6 are my favourites. I came across your website a couple of months back and noticed all your pictures always seem to have excellent colour. Very impressed.:D

I'd have to say Excellent as well!
I'm really thinking of going tomorrow, and this is encouraging me to go even more :)
Like Kev has mentioned, the colours are superb. Care to share what glass you used and PP you did? :)

Nice set of pics Azza. I like your choice of variety and the angle and cropping on #4 is very striking - just needed a bit more depth of field.

Thanks guys. madferrit, the last day of testing is today so would get your scates on mate ;) There will be another test in June. Shots were taken with a combination of Sigma 10-20mm, Nifty and 100-400L. I increase the saturation & sharpening with the in-camera parameters. I generally just resize and crop/levels adjust if need be, really nothing special - I don't know what half of the menu's/icons in Photoshop are for lol :p
Thanks dengli, I tried to post something a little bit different. #4 is actually not cropped and I agree a little more DoF would have been great. Actually a 70-200 F2.8 would have been ideal but Mr Bank Manager won't let me have one

Hi Azza,
Nice set of pictures, with the first 4 did you have a media pass to get these shot's ?. Very nice colour and sharpness to them all.
Well done.
Shaun.

Nice set, man I would love the chance to have media access to F1. These cars just put CHAMP car and IRL to shame.

No media/pitlane pass. I was a guest at McLaren so I had access to the McLaren garage but not the whole pitlane. It was awesome

Not good enough quality to post at much higher resolution - this caught me by suprise, lucky to get anything of it really. Thought I'd post it as it's something a bit "different" - hopefully ;)

Nice series AzzA. Even though #8 isn't up to your regular "gallery standards" it is my favorite. Nice capture.

AzzA, are you a pro yet? because the range of photos on your gallery is easily pro level, for sure. Have you tried to get into the industry?

Hello mate, erm no I'm not... I do it for fun :) No I haven't tried to get into the industry, not so sure if I'd enjoy doing it with the pressures of "having" to get the shot... if you know what I mean. Thanks

I reckon you should definitely give it a try...I know Sutton images recently had a vacancy for a snapper on the itv-f1 website, and these photos (amongst the 'spectacular' range on your website) are good enough to form a portfolio.

Thanks, glad you think so
A friend of mine actually had an interview for that "Sutton job". To be honest I've never felt the desire to shoot "professionally", I enjoy being able to shoot where I want when I want and without any pressures or hassles that I'm sure you get when shooting "the other side". I would think the best person to ask about pressures etc would be Ken though I believe he's freelance... but I guess the same still applies.
