Hi,

Birds aren't normally my thing but I wanted to give the AF servo on my shiny new 30D a workout and this seemed like an ideal opportunity. Shot using my 150mm macro :D

great shots, especially like the last one with the wings blurred. Looks like this Heron has been tagged rings on its right leg and wing

Thanks. The heron is local and I see it often at one of the local parks. I've even seen it sitting in a tree near my pond

The sequence of three are really good, with the wings progressively going from fully up to fully down.

But number 4 is my favourite here. Like Dandaman_24 says, that motion blur is superb.

I think I might have to try some more shots of the heron taking off, after all it's easy enough to get it to fly away :)

My wife thinks it like a cross between an angel and a turkey!
