Advise needed! Should I buy a Canon 35-350 L?

My preferred drug dealer is selling, in mint conditions, a used Canon L 35-350 3.5-5.6 zoom.
I tried it yesterday afternoon....
It's so sharp.... so fast at focusing that I'm in love...
But, it's so heavy....
Do you use such a lens only with a tripode?
I already have a 16-35 2.8 L, this way I would cover all possible focal lenghts with L quality glass...
About the kind of shots I take... Almost very kind.... Only sports i don't shot... everything else... I'm trying it! :)
Should I buy it?

Tiziano, I don't own 35-300L, but do have 28-300L. I don't need a tripod and I carry it on daily basis. From the shooting prospective, I'm not making a fair comparision because 28-300L is equipped with IS and 35-300L isn't (as far as I know). I really love the lens for many reasons, including the IQ, versatility, how it feels and even for it's reputation (being bashed by many majority of which never handled one, but theoritically it doesn't sound good to them). If you're getting a good price, go for it.

Question for you: do you have non-preferred drug dealers as well? :D

No, It doesn't have IS.... but the 28-300 IS, even used, costs twice what this will cost me....

I had the 35-350 for a long time an loved every moment. Switched to the 100-400 later when I changed several things in my lens setup.

Go for it, you won't regret. Just remember that is a non-IS lens and @350mm can be tough to manage.

Tiziano, my dealer is located on 9th Ave. in NYC. I was there yesterday for another dose... And I thought Canon stuff was expensive, try buying glass/accessories for Leica...
