Hi,

Further to my tribulations with my 5D I decided to have another go at East Fortune on Sunday. Pleased to say that my keeper rate went up significantly. I took KennyG's advice and played to the strengths of the 5D and tried to position myself at points where the bikes were significantly slower than on the longer straights. The 5D coped much better. I don't know the circuit at all and I was late arriving so I didn't get a chance to scope out the best vantage points. (The backgrounds are a bit crap really). CaC welcome.

Regards...
Steve

Looks like you have got to grips with the 5D Steve. It is always difficult to adapt to a new camera. Trust me, it took me a while to get the results I felt comfortable with from my MK-II compared to the MK-I that I had been using for some time, yet they are very similar in operation.

The 5D has the same problems with bright orange as does every Canon DSLR. It tends to blow out that particular daglo colour. I wish they would find an alternative colour for the novices to wear, white maybe. The lighting looks pretty harsh, or is it just me not being used to sunshine? Big leap forward Steve and now you are in the driving seat you can spend less time worrying about the mechanics of the shot and more time thinking about the content.
