Just figured I would share this combination of three images i processed a few days ago. It is tough to find good places to do these shots, but I think this one turned out pretty cool. Let me know what you think and if there is room for improvement. Feel free to edit as well if desired.

It's not bad at all. The sky colours are nice and warm, and the cityline silhouette is interesting foreground detail. The stitching is also good, as I cannot see any joins either. :)
If you had intended on deliberately capturing the flag, then I would have suggested going slightly closer and lower if possible to make the flag both bigger, and to have it clearly back-lit against the sky.

I think the sunset is too bright. Rather over welming. The city scape really suffers for it. A morning photo might be more welcoming. Or a night shot, possible even if you had waited about 45 mins to an hour.

thanks for everyones input. I was aiming at getting a silhouette...but do you just think the hot spot where the sun actually is, is too bright and overwhelms the composition, transportithere?

I think that the sun is a bit bright in this one, the rest of the photo is great and I love the overall quality

I think you can do better. My untrained eye goes straight to the bright sun.
The city scape is second. Then if I really look I see the flag.
My humble opinion is, if you were to allow the sun to get below the horizion and allow the lights of the city to attract 'MY' untrained eye. There would be more balance in the photo. I bet at 5:00 am from the same location. The true excitment of the capture will be evident.
I will mention that I am learning as I go. The last thing I want to do is offend or discouage you.
Keep posting and look at some of my photos. Do not forget to beat my photos up also. That is how I am going to learn.
So please 'come and learn with me' can you say that in Spanish.

Once again thanks for your input. I am definently not at all discouraged or offended, im only that way when I get like zero posts. lol. I'll be sure to try to check out some of your posts and offer you feedback as well. I really love this location and will try to improve my shot next time.

The more I look at your creation, the more I learn. Your blend is seamless.
The color are very nice. You did take a nice photo.
Recently I have been doing and enjoying night photos.
City light are better seen at night.
The photo I added is one I am going to seek tonight. If all goes well.
But, right now. The NBA playoff are on. GO MAVS !!!

i like the scene in your pano transportithere but you are going to lose a ton of detail in the sky and foreground when you crop your shot. You are missing huge sections from what i assume is the lack of use of a tripod. Tripods i would consider necessary but some panos can be done without. Make sure you stand level and focus on your horizon being level and having it line up at a certain point in your viewfinder then shoot multiple overlapping photos. Pan with your upper body and dont reposition your feet. try this and you may have success. good luck

I will post on your thread again. I cleaned the Pano of Tacoma up a bit. I dropped the two ends and resized the canvas, then I used several other tools.
I have been informed of the tripod panorama shot. I have not tried it for some odd reason. I have been saving the tripod for night shots.
I will try to use it more during the day light hours.
The Mavs and the Clippers are on thier way to the second round.
Memphis and Denver are going fishing.

it looks better now but you lost a fair amount of the cool stormy sky and the buildings look a tad bit lopped off on the bottom, but all in all this isnt bad. Your horizon is nic and level and it looks like an interesting scene with lots of detail

I finally attempted to do a pano using a tripod. I didnot setup too well.
The creation although clear was stepped. I posted it. It was huge, like 77 inches or 195 cm wide. Then I posted it again in thread 'pano stacked'.

that view from the witch's hat tower in prospect park is really the best view of the minneapolis skyline. however my only gripe with this composition is that it would have been nice to not have cut off the right side of the dowtown sideline. otherwise, terrific exposure.
