The web-resized version really doesn't do justice to it. Try the larger one here. (http://pix.lightrefineries.org/albums/aa2006/aat.jpg)
Canon 350D, 70-300 IS USM. 1/1250 sec, f/7.1, ISO 200 in AI Servo mode. Stabilizer off, I figured I didn't need it at these speeds in Tv mode.
The pic is so clear that in the full size 8MP version on my hard disk, you can read the model number (Airbus 380) in the lettering under the cockpit windows.
Constructive feedback welcome. :)

Love to see one myself too.... not sure I would want to be a passenger on it though. Nice shot. I wish I was into photography when I was on the triple 7 team, but alas, I wasn't. Boy did I miss some opportunities.

Thanks all :)
I hear it seats 500-550 depending on internal layout and configuration. Incredible to see it actually fly!

I just find an angle that makes the A380 look good. Amazing plane however. I didn't think it was all that big when I saw one here.

Anyone around the Chester UK area in June (think it is the 24th), there is a staff family day at the Airbus Factory, the A380 is booked for a fly past / display appearance, prob weather dependant and entrance to the airfield is staff only but there are plenty of vantage points outside the field.

For those who don't know, the A380 is making it's UK debut at Heathrow this Thursday 18th May. It's expected to land on the Southern runway, regardless of wind direction, at around 1230 midday. It is reportedly doing a flypast at Filton and Broughton before it lands at Heathrow.

Thanks again for the kind words.. I liked this shot enough that I blew it up to A3 as a print and it will hang on my wall. It's rare that I am lucky enough to pull off something like this that makes it all worthwhile :)
I passed through Chester some time ago with my 350D. Nice place!

Great shot of a huge aircraft, still not as big a wingspan as the Spuce Goose.

Scratch that - they have decided it will not be at the open day after all
