about 2mm in diameter. There are hundreds of them growing in a dark corner of my lawn.

well a weed is just a plant in the wrong place....
last year my rudbeckia's were horrible weeds

I think you could have gotten a little better DOF. Flash? or long exposure with tripod? It looks like a handshot with available light. Nice picture but I'd like to see more. Some people take multiple photos at different focal points and then blend them in PS to get more DOF.
On a different note -- I have a pink flower on a purlple plant in my garden that is super small and only opens in the morning. Humming birds love it. The plant is often mistakenly refferred to as a Wondering Jew, but that's not what it is. I'll get a picture someday.
