This guy surfs for Ezekiel clothing. He needs to get some shots for his sponsor and I have never done portraits before. Can I get some critiques on these so I can give them some great shots? Feel free to critique just one, two, or all. Thanks!

You did a great job with compoition, sharpness, exposure etc, they look very professional. But I dont like the expressions on his face at all. And his eyes seem to be squinting too much in the 2nd and 3rd shots. Overall the 4th shot is best because he isnt pulling a funny face in it. But like I said, you did great with the photography.

You know I drove away from the shoot and told my fiance that very thing...I need to learn how to direct models to make the right facial expressions. Oh, and he's normally a squinter even when we don't take pictures.

The last 2 are my favourties - again, because he isn't squinting...

Not sure what you'll do though if he's a squinter of habit... :(

I was thinking I could attach some electrical device to him and shock him whenever I want to take a picture. That should open his eyes.

Great shots! You did well with such a poor model.
