EE FTP suddenly failing

Hi Guys,

I tried to upload an image to my EE site last night for the first time in about 2 weeks, and was unable to do so due to an FTP failure.

To cut to the chase this is the error log when using 'test now' in the FTP server setup page; (note details are in reverse order)

Now I'm no genius but this would tell me that for some reason FTP cannot authenticate the login details provided.
The details have not changed from when they were last successfully used - although I did retype them to be absulutely sure.
Failing that, I checked via WSFTP that the details were able to authenticate and I logged in fine - proving they are valid. Additionally to this I reset the login details via my own website control panel just to refresh them. Again, following this I could log in fine using WSFTP

I have uploaded an image to the upload folder but just can't get it to upload to the database due to the internal ftp issue.

Does anyone have any ideas where I should look next? ???

Change to "internal FTP" and try just the basic test (no file uploads). Then see messages if you had problem with user/pass or some other error message.

Also, if you previously used your domain name as ftp server, try localhost or 127.0.0.1

Hi Pekka,

I initially tried using internal FTP but still get the same error on the tests. Also I tried the localhost name, ip address and also my server ip address but still the same error.

Would it be ok if I pm you my login so you can look over my settings?

Could some one please pass me the info for the fix? Having the same problem. Reset and also create a new ftp user, still get the following error:

msg 719 | internal ftp: PASS: 530 Authentication failed, sorry
msg 718 | internal ftp: PASS *******

Gallery was moved to a new server recently.
