Some sort of Wasp

This is one of my first macro shots. I still don't have macro lenses so this is just with my camera at full zoom. Please let me know what you think and what I may do to improve the shot. Thanks.

Great shot Kevin, like the colours and the focus seems ok too... apart from maybe depth of field being a little off (the wasp is only part in focus).
not being an expert, I don't know if a macro lense would solve DOF here.

Thanks Moly. This was just with my camera at full zoom because I didn't have any macro lenses...But I've since ordered them and they are on their way. I've heard that depth of field is real shallow for macro shots and I'm not sure how to get a larger DOF when shooting macro shots...I'll just keep experimenting. Thanks again.

That is one scary looking bug! It looks as though it has arms like a Mantis?! and really ,. it's head looks a little mantis like too. Weird!

I think you did a great job with the limited DOF,.. the head and front are in crisp focus.
