S45 noisy

I've been using S45 for a while and I am quite annoyed with the start-up and zoom buzz. Other cameras make noise too but not this much. Is it my camera I wonder.

Well, this is pretty hard to tell for with just an examplation on a forum.

If I were you, I woould where you bought the camera or amy places that sold them and ask to ear one brand new. Bring yours to be able to make comparism.

Problem could be grit or lubrication problem, broken gear, or something binding somewhere.

Compair it to a equal camera, and if the noise is more than what the other is, send it in. It might be covered under warranty (if it's defective part) so send in your warranty information too.

I compared it to other new cameras at the store and they are all noisy. I was also annoyed with the sliding cover, pushing it back and forth. I could not resist the temptation and exchanged my S45 with an S400. I know I am sacrificing some manual features (raw imaging was great) but at least I am happy to hold the cute and effective S400 in my hand.
