I am looking for someone who has a website that has thumbnails that is not flashed based.
I am trying to get some ideas for my own site and everything I am finding is flashed based and I do not want that.

Thanks,

Sonya

Yeah flash is not a good idea for a photography portfolio, unless you really know what you are doing and are adequate in ActionScript etc, so it appears smooth.

I use photoblog software known as PixelPost, and I made the template in CSS (cascading style sheets). When you download it, it comes with a few plain default templates that do their job well.

Good luck

Well I have made my template page and a few others already in CSS I am handcoding it and have 6 pages almost finished.
Right now theres are just images no thumnails because I feel somewhat stuck on that part.

I will download the pixelpost to take a look at it.

So you designed in pixel post but host it somewhere else not on their blog?

I love the lizzard pics I have one I was going to put in my portfolio. Your site is a nice looking site.

really cool to see pixelpost mentioned around here. it's not really intended to be a gallery application, it's a photoblog script at heart...but many people have created addons and toys you can download, hinted at hacks to it ect...the templates are straight forward html and very easy to write your own if you have an idea about xhtml/css and read the docs folder in the download...so you know the tags and what you can do

http://forum.pixelpost.org and http://wiki.pixelpost.org are the first two major resources for support, lots of information on both, and if you get super jammed you can ask for help on the forum.

pixelpost is an application, it has to be installed on a webserver. http://www.eleven2.com offers installation help for pixelpost, if you dont have hosting already they are def worth checking out...

you could use gallery1 or 2, or a whole host of other gallery software. To run most of them, you need a host with PHP, MySQL and GD2 or Imagemagick support. Most hosts have that. I use pixelpost - http://gallery.rampen.ca - As I find its suitable for my needs :D
